Clinical Psychologist
Sharryn Muir is a registered Clinical Psychologist. She was the founding Director of the practice in 1998 and now is a co-Director with Jane Gierlicz. She is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA), has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and is an approved Supervisor for the Psychology Board of Australia. Sharryn has worked in private practice for the last two decades. Sharryn has a particular interest in women’s hormones and mental health, in particular Pre Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD). Sharryn uses Mindfulness, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy(DBT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). Sharryn is the mother of two young adults.
PMDD treatment is delivered by Sharryn Muir, who provides PMDD assessment and psychological therapy, and may refer patients to other clinicians including Endocrinologists and Psychiatrists.
Sharryn consults out of an independent location in Hawthorn on Mondays and from the Northern Psychology Centre in Preston on Wednesdays and Fridays. These sessions are available in person and via telehealth.
Sharryn has developed a treatment App for PMDD. It is available from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. It is called PMDD Treatment - Sharryn Muir.
