TANIA HERBERT
—
Clinical Psychologist
Tania has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and also has a Masters in International Law.
Tania has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and specialises in working with people who have experienced trauma and big life changes that are difficult to adjust to. She has worked for several years in private practice in Australia, and in a regional hospital working with people who needed psychological support because of their health issues. She has also worked internationally in the trauma field, working with people who have experienced natural disasters, family violence, war and state-sponsored violence in Africa, Asia, and the Pacific. She is on the editorial board of Torture Journal, and writes and reviews reports and articles relating to trauma impacts and treatment.
Tania works with her clients to find the approach that works for them, but she enjoys using humour and finding the lighter moments of human connection whilst working on the serious stuff! She is a strong believer that everyone has the capacity to heal and to make life improvements, and feels that her role is to use her professional knowledge and skills to guide people in finding the solutions that feel right for them.
Tania is particularly interested in working with people impacted by COVID-19 and by the changes to the world we have seen since it emerged.
