The aim of the presentation is to educate Psychologists on the WorkSafe system. Many injured workers struggle with the processes associated with having a WorkSafe claim, a Psychologist who understands the system is able to depersonalize difficulties and normalize their client’s experiences. Further, understanding the system assists when liaising with stakeholders, and in providing information to clients on more effective interaction with the system. Jane will also discuss the purpose of the Clinical Panel and Clinical Panel reviews and the Clinical Framework for the Delivery of Health Services.

About the presenter
Jane Gierlicz is a registered Clinical Psychologist. She has been a co-Director of the practice with Sharryn Muir since 2000. She is a Member the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA). She has a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, and has worked in the UK and Australia in psychiatric settings and private practices. She has a wide variety of experience working with a broad range of client groups, and now specializes in working with adults on many different issues they present with including anxiety, depression, eating and body image problems, to name a few. She is a Consultant Psychologist to WorkSafe and to Comcare – she has worked on the Clinical Panel at WorkSafe since 2005. She is a Psychology Board of Australia approved Supervisor.
